Wedding suppliers SEO blogging tips for beginners

Wedding suppliers SEO blogging tips

In this blog post I’m going to give you my best Wedding suppliers SEO blogging tips for beginners. Blogging is one of the best ways to improve your website’s SEO and get found by your ideal clients. But what should you write about, and how do you make sure it actually helps your website rank on Google?

Follow these steps:

Step 1: Choose a wedding blog topic that helps with SEO

Here are my two favourite types of blog posts to help with SEO:

1️⃣ Venue/location specific blog posts

💡 Why? Couples planning their wedding are likely to search “[Venue/location Name] Wedding” (for example “Hedsor House wedding”) to see what their wedding could look like at that venue and get inspiration. These types of posts help you rank for searches like these and if couples find your blog they might book you!

Best for: Wedding photographers, videographers, florists, planners, hair and makeup artists and any suppliers who work on-site at venues.

2️⃣ Tips & Advice blog posts

💡 Why? Couples often search for wedding planning tips. By answering their questions, you build trust and attract potential clients who haven’t booked their suppliers yet.

Examples:

  • “My top 3 Bridal Makeup Preview tips” (for makeup artists)
  • “5 must-have wedding stationery items you might forget” (for stationers)
  • “The best first dance songs for a magical wedding” (for DJs)

Best for: Any wedding supplier!

Step 2: Optimise your wedding supplier blog for SEO

Once you’ve chosen your topic, you’ll need to pick an SEO Keyphrase for your blog post.

Choose a phrase your ideal client might search, for example: “Hedsor House Summer Wedding”.

Once you have your SEO keyphrase, it’s time to optimise your blog post:

Use the Keyphrase in these places throughout your blog post:

  • Blog title (e.g., “Elegant Hedsor House Summer Wedding”)
  • First paragraph of your blog post
  • A couple of times throughout the text including in subheadings H2s and H3s – but keep it natural!
  • The slug (ie the URL, for example yourwebsite.com/hedsor-house-summer-wedding/)
  • Image alt text (e.g., “Bride and groom at Hedsor House on their summer wedding day”)

Add a meta description
This is the short bit of text that appears in Google search results, ie what couples will see before clicking on the link to open up your blog post. Make it enticing, so they want to click, keep it under 155 characters, and include your SEO keyphrase.

Optimise your images

  • Rename your image files: use descriptive file names like hedsor-house-wedding-bouquet.jpg instead of IMG_1234.jpg
  • Add Alt text: Alt ext (alternative text) is a short description of what’s in an image – it helps with accessibility and also gives Google more context. When uploading photos to your blog, especially detail shots like bouquets, signage, or flatlays, add alt text that clearly describes the image (e.g. “summer wedding bouquet with pink peonies and eucalyptus”). Bonus: include your SEO Keyphrase if you can, as long as it sounds natural.

Add internal and external links

Make sure to add a few relevant links, both internal and external. The easiest way will be to link to the other wedding suppliers’ websites – these are external links.

Add a call to action at the end (e.g., “Want to book your wedding flowers? Let’s chat!”) and link that to your contact page – this is an internal link.

Step 3: Publish & share your blog

Once your blog is live, make sure people see it!

📌 Share on Social Media – Post a few photos and link to the blog on Instagram and Facebook
📌 Pin to Pinterest – Create a few Pinterest pins linking to the blog.
📌 Send to Your Email List – If you have an email list, send a quick email with a link to the post.
📌 Link Between Your Blogs – If you write another blog about a similar topic, link back to it for extra SEO points!

SEO Disclaimer: it takes time!

SEO isn’t instant – it can take months for Google to rank your blog. The more relevant, quality blog posts you write, the better your chances of ranking over time.

I hope these wedding suppliers SEO blogging tips help! The more you blog, the better your SEO will be over time. So, if you want more dream clients to find you, start writing!
